Regular communications

The monthly newsletter offers you meeting information, coming events such as clinics, sales, shows, rides and much more.  Members are encouraged to send any information they wish included such as horses for sale, tack for sale, clinics, etc. to info@uxbridgehorsemen.com. 

DURHAM AND YORK REGION TRAIL STEWARDS

We are fortunate in Durham and York Region to have a large trail network accessible to horses and their riders. The UHA executive and members help support our trails and the Associations  that develop, build and maintain the trails  that so many of us love to use. We are actively involved with the TRCA, LSRCA, Uxbridge Trails Committee and the Uxbridge Parks and Recreation Department to help improve our trails for all user groups.

We advocate multi use trail‘s and help to educate our members and other users of the benefits of sharing and working together.

We keep our members informed of trail activities, proper trail etiquette and trail closures and notices.  We are a non-profit association that raises money and donates to local trail projects.  Our members further give back to the community by donating their time helping with volunteer trail maintenance and trail building projects.

Giving back to the community is a good positive way to ensure continued access to this great resource by equestrians.

CLINICS AND TRAIL RIDES

You will be notified of club-sponsored and organized clinics for our members through our Newsletters and Facebook page.  Some clinics are Free with your membership – such as Massage Therapy, Ask the Farrier, First Aid for your Horse, Show preparation, Saddle Fitting... to name a few.  These informative clinics are organized on an interest basis, so be sure you let us know what you would like to see.  We also run special interest clinics such as Polo 101, and Free Jumping.  Some of specialty clinics have costs associated with them, but we negotiate special rates for UHA Members.

MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNTS

With an Uxbridge Horsemen’s Association Membership, you will receive discounts at various retailers in Uxbridge and the Surrounding area, along with getting a discounted fee for many events, clinics or seminars we organize for our members.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

Come and join us for a chance to meet and network with like-minded horse people on a social level.  We have 4 meetings a year and try to get together beforehand for dinner.  This year our meetings will be held at Scrambles Restaurant, please RSVP to info@uxbridgehorsemen.com so we can let them know you are coming. We periodically have Pub Nights through the winter, and trail rides and BBQs in the summer.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

The Uxbridge Horsemen’s Association is the voice for equine enthusiasts in the Durham, York and Scugog areas.  We are a non-profit, fund raising  group that holds events through the year to help the Community.  Past events have included the Bike & Beast Poker Run, Food Drives to benefit the local Food Banks.  The events change on a year to year basis.    We also participate in the Santa Claus Parade and the Optimists Fantasy of Lights each year.
