Interactive English/Western Equitation Workshop with OEf 2012 Coach of the Year, Gloria Nighswander
WHY HOLD AN EQUITATION WORKSHOP?
The term “equitation” can be described in many ways including “balanced” and “centered” riding, or “effective” and “elegant” riding, thus creating flawless communication with the horse.
Rather like the term “dressage”, equitation simply means training. The “art” of equitation means learning not only the actual act of riding, but also understanding the background/historical principles in order to be able to effectively ride your horse through clear and quiet communication.
Correct equitation forms the basis for all ridden disciplines. When taught in an inclusive and comprehensive manner, the student is introduced to the way in which horses think and communicate and also to the way in which horses physically moves and how the rider influences the horse.
Through participating in this workshop, both riders and auditors will be able to enhance their knowledge and equestrian skills.
Special Presentation: Musical Freestyle with Karin Davis
