UHA $600 Donation to benefit the Uxbridge/Scugog New Animal Shelter Fund
Bike & Beast 2011 was held in late September in the Durham Forest. This is a yearly club event that brings together both Mountain bike riders and Horseback riders. This is essentially a Poker Run with each rider going into the forest to find ribbons, then turning them in for playing cards. A Mountain bike rider is teamed up with a Horseback rider and they use their cards to make the best poker hand. This year we had 18 Mountain bike riders and 18 Horseback riders. We had a beautiful day and everyone taking part had fun. From this event we were able to raise $600 which was donated this past week to Ginger Jackson of the New Animal Shelter Committee.
Lameness Lab

The Lameness Lab will show you visually all about why a horse goes lame, what lameness looks like and clues to look for in a lame horse. It is important to understand the basics of lameness for the well-being of your horse. Don't forget to take the Lameness Video Challenge to test your skills in identifying different types of lameness!
